This collection of American engineer and plastics consultant Edwin F. Bushman contains correspondence, technical reports, product literature, photographs, hand drawings, technical drawings, and blueprints that relate to his decades-long contributions to acrylic and fiberglass production and applications in government, industrial, and domestic spheres.
A pioneer in the fields of molded acrylic and fiberglass products, he obtained eight U.S. patents in plastic products, processes, and applications. He received recognition for his expansive body of work as Western Plastics Man of the Year in 1972 and again in 1981 with the SPE’s (Society of Plastics Engineers) Lundberg Award. In 2005 he was posthumously inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame in honor of his contributions to plastic design and plastic processing.
